History of Crusader Ministries?

In 1970 David and Barbara Marple arrived in McAllen, Texas with God's fire burning in them to serve as missionaries in spite of many challenges, a young family and virtually no support.  What was humanly improbable became God's victory.

Marples started Missionary Air Transport (M.A.T.) which provided air support to missionaries, principally in Mexico, but also Central America and the US.  During that time several Mexico based missionaries asked to work together with them and what was to become Crusader Ministries, Inc. was born in 1981.  Those early works still persist, as do the missionaries.  M.A.T. slowly diminished due to improved commercial flights.

The Lord called David home in 1995 and the Board of Directors called an interim director for about 1 year.  Ken Esau was elected shortly thereafter and has served until 2006. In 2006 Jim Schmidt was elected as Executive Director.

At present, mission works are centered in Mexico near Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas; Nuevo Ideal, Durango; Linares, Nuevo Leon; Huejutla, Hidalgo; and south of Oaxaca City, Oaxaca.  Each place also has outreach ministry locations.  To see a map of the location of specific towns and cities where ministry is happening click on the following link: Mexico.
